Kerri Maya

Kerri Maya’s primary role is as the Program Manager of Continuing Professional Development for Sutter Health where she works to advance interprofessional collaborative education as a facilitator of optimal patient outcomes. Concurrently, Maya demonstrates her passion for education working as a Nurse Educator III at the University of California, Davis for Master’s Entry Program Nursing (MEPN) students.
As a long-time Delirium Champion, a role that stems from both professional experience as a former ICU nurse and personal experience as a family member of a delirium survivor, Maya is currently serving as the Co-Chair for the American Delirium Society’s Education Committee and is on the Board of Directors.
Maya received a Health Professions Educator Graduate Academic Certificate and a Master’s Degree in Nursing Science and Healthcare Leadership from the University of California, Davis in 2018. She is currently completing her doctorate there in the same field of study and has recently earned a Graduate Academic Certificate in Family Caregiving Support. Her research interests include ICU Survivor and family perspectives on the impact of distress related to delirium as well as key behavioral intervention targets and promoters of intervention feasibility.
