Biren Kamdar, MD, MBA, MS, MHS is an Associate Professor of Medicine at UC San Diego and member of the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. A clinician-scientist and health services researcher, Dr. Kamdar’s career research goal is to make novel and relevant scientific contributions to understand and improve delirium in critically ill patients. He is currently funded with an NIH/NIA K76 Paul B. Beeson Emerging Leaders Career Development Award (primary mentor Jennifer Martin, PhD) to develop and evaluate a multicomponent daytime-nighttime intervention to improve sleep and delirium in critically ill patients. His most recent efforts involve development and dissemination of an digital “ICU Delirium Playbook” for bedside providers.
