Rebecca Spear

Rebecca is a Nurse Practitioner in the Continuum of the Care Skilled Nursing department of Kaiser Santa Rosa in Northern California. Her interest in geriatrics was first sparked while attending San Francisco State University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

In 2015, after a rewarding 7 years in long-term care management, she earned a Master’s of Nursing degree from Seattle University and began her career as an Adult-Gerontological Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, practicing outpatient internal medicine in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

In 2016, Rebecca returned to her home state of California to join Kaiser and in 2020 earned a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from The University of Arizona. Additionally, the university awarded her with the Mary Opal Wolanin Outstanding Dissertation for Excellence in Nursing with Vulnerable Populations for her research in delirium prevention in post-acute care patients.

Rebecca’s additional accreditations include: certification by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, membership in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association. She has also served on the Kaiser Permanente Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders and Delirium workgroups, volunteers as a peer reviewer for Geriatric Nursing, and is a medical reviewer for the Alpha Phi Foundation.
