Kamal Wagle


I am a physician with background training in family medicine; geriatrics; public health; innovation and implementation science. My clinical experience has been in primary care, geriatric consult, primary care geriatrics, post-acute care, transitions of care, and long-term care. I am a lifelong learner and always seek opportunity to learn from my patients, my interdisciplinary team, and my mentors. I have also been a mentor and teaching faculty for medical students, resident physicians, geriatric fellows, and interdisciplinary team members. I did my medical school in Nepal; and residency training in Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, where I also did geriatrics academic fellowship. Following my formal trainings, I practiced primary care for few years, before moving to Indiana, where I practiced at Eskenazi Health and now at Indiana University Health Physician. While in Indiana, I have been privileged to be a clinical leader in post-acute care, transition of care in health care system; and currently in a clinic for Medicare population under value-based care model. I am passionate about shared decision making, lifestyle medicine, safe medication practices, healthy aging, and age friendly health system. I am driven by pursuit of high-quality patient-centered care and improving quality of life of older adults.
