Dr. Kimchi is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and a practicing neurologist at Massachusetts General Hospital who specializes in inpatient, neurohospitalist care. As a clinician-scientist, Dr. Kimchi’s leads targeted basic and clinical research related to acute alterations in brain dynamics and cognition, with a focus on translating lessons learned between bench and bedside. Dr. Kimchi’s basic research focuses on how both potential delirium precipitants and neuromodulators such as acetylcholine affect distributed brain networks. His clinical research focuses on identifying the structure and function of the neural circuits underlying delirium, including the development of new biomarkers for delirium. Dr. Kimchi received an MD/PhD in Neuroscience from Yale University’s School of Medicine, followed by neurology training and a chief resident year at the Partners Neurology program, a joint program of Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Kimchi’s work has been supported by the NIH’s National Institute on Aging (NIA) and National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), in addition several foundations such as the American Academy of Neurology.
