2020 Annual Conference Sponsors
Delirium is an acute neuropsychiatric problem that affects up to 50% of patients across the health care system and is associated with cognitive decline, increased mortality and a significant emotional and financial burden to patients, their families and society at large.
The American Delirium Society (ADS), now in its 10th year and on an impressive growth trajectory, seeks to foster research, education, quality improvement, patient-safety, advocacy and implement science to minimize the impact of delirium on patients across the health care spectrum. We are proud of the truly interdisciplinary nature of ADS, which brings together anesthesiologists, geriatricians, hospitalists, intensivists, internists, neurologists, nurses, pediatricians, pharmacists, physical and occupational therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists and surgeons under a single organization with the intent of raising awareness about the nature, consequences and management of delirium. Under the ADS umbrella, clinicians and researchers collaborate to promote understanding and foster research on the nature, prevention and treatment of this devastating syndrome.
The ADS 2020 Annual Conference will be held March 2021 at The Westin Indianapolis – a large conference hotel located in the heart of Indianapolis, IN. The 2020 conference will be the largest ADS ever, with
an expected attendance of close to 350 delirium-focused clinicians, researchers and administrators attending from around the world. Our final three-day scientific program (please see attached 2019 Annual Conference brochure for reference) will include more than 30 different sessions led by more than 100 of the top delirium experts in the world. Our interdisciplinary expert faculty, from more than 10 different countries, includes both clinical, translational and implementation science experts with expertise in surgery and peri-operative care, critical care, geriatrics, pediatric and palliative care. Our scientific abstracts submission attracted more than 100 submissions to the 2019 conference.
